Grown with Intention, Shared with Love
our story
about us
Hi! It’s me, Cailin!
In 2023, I took a leap of love and started Chocolate Lily Hill, my very own flower farm, focused on sustainable, chemical-free practices. With no real gardening experience, I embraced each day as a new adventure, learning the art of flower farming and floral design along the way. I moved to my partner’s family farm in 2020 and after becoming a mother in 2022, I became more and more interested in getting my hands in the soil and growing flowers. I’m so grateful to call this land my home. Besides its immense beauty and wisdom, it has inspired me to do something I had never thought I could have. It was a distant dream to live the homesteading life style, but now here I am. This journey is a commitment to nurturing both nature, myself and the relationships that around me. For me connection is at the heart of what I do here, so i can’t wait to keep creating and bringing my flowers to the community. Besides this new flower passion of mine I love dancing, baking, photography and raising my little girl in nature.
Five Things You might not Know About Me
1. I’m half Belgian, half Aussie: I’ve spent half my life in Belgium and the other half here in Australia.
2. Cardamom is my secret ingredient: I love cardamom so much, I’ll try to add it to everything—unless it’s completely crazy, of course (or maybe I still will ;p)
3. Gardening was not my first love: Growing up, gardening chores were just another thing I had to do—and I definitely didn’t enjoy it back then. Falling in love with flowers and gardening only came recently.
4. Life with a little human: I have a two-and-a-half-year-old, which means my days are filled with toddler energy, unexpected giggles, and lots of mess.
5. I love searching for treasures in thrift stores and vintage shops. Experimenting with different styles and putting together unique outfits brings me so much joy.
my floral style
At Chocolate Lily Hill, every bouquet I create is a reflection of my mindful approach to floral design. I choose each stem with intention, weaving together a heartfelt story that embodies the essence of the moment and the land. I grow a variety of cottage-style flowers, but I also love to incorporate native blooms (which is a ‘growth in progress’), vegetable flowers, and lush foliage from my garden and land. I strive to make my arrangements a bit different and unique, adding interesting touches that captivate the eye and bring the beauty of the land into each bunch.

While I strive to be as sustainable as possible, I know I’m not perfect—I’m continually learning and doing my best. This commitment allows me to create beautiful blooms while honouring and appreciating the wonders of nature in the present. Each flower we grow plays a part in fostering a healthier planet, reflecting my dedication to responsible stewardship and a deep connection to the environment
Nurturing Soil Health: I focus on nurturing soil health through organic practices, incorporating compost and natural fertilisers to create a thriving environment for my flowers and support the ecosystem.
Water Usage: I strive to practice mindful water usage by implementing efficient irrigation techniques and utilising rainwater collection, ensuring that my plants receive the moisture they need without wasting this precious resource.
No Harmful Pesticides: I am committed to using no harmful pesticides, opting for natural pest control methods to protect the health of my flowers and the surrounding environment.
Encouraging Biodiversity: I cultivate a diverse range of plants and flowers to attract beneficial insects and wildlife, fostering a balanced ecosystem that enhances the health of my farm and the surrounding environment.
Minimising Plastic Use: At Chocolate Lily Hill, I prioritise minimising plastic use by opting for eco-friendly packaging and reusable materials, ensuring that each bouquet is not only beautiful but also kind to the planet.
